U5/U6 (2019)

COACHING

  • Each team has coach and assistant coach
  • 1:5 players-to-coach ratio
  • Individualized attention to each player
  • Always a familiar coach, in case of absence

CURRICULUM

  • Age-appropriate “club” curriculum
  • Focus on gross motor skills: Running, changing direction, acceleration, deceleration
  • Ball and Me Philosophy- All activities are based on 1 player per ball to maximize touches on the ball

GAMES

  • Format: 3v3
  • Teams play each other
    • Coaches divide the team on game day to create 3v3 game
    • Coaches have to ability change teams throughout the game to maintain competitive learning environment
  • Maximize active play time and ball touches
    • On average, 2 players sit out at a time
    • Opportunity to dribble, demonstrate learned skills, touch ball and score

PATHWAY & GROWTH

  • Players develop at faster rate
  • Coaches/Directors can place players on an accelerated track based on performance

U7/U8 (2018-2017)

Goal: Develop players to have the technical/tactical foundation to transition into the Travel Program.

COACHING/TEAM

  • Each team has a Head Coach & Assistant Coach
  • 1:5 players-to-coach ratio
  • Individualized attention to each player
  • Girls have the option of being on an all girls team or co-ed team

CURRICULUM

  • Coaches follow age-appropriate club curriculum
    • Tactical Focus: Offensive shape, defensive shape, transition moments
    • Technical Focus: Ball control, skill moves, shooting, dribbling
    • Physical Focus: sprinting, acceleration/deceleration, change of direction, balance
    • Physiological Focus: Enjoyment, teamwork, self-confidence, growth mindset, enjoyment
  • Curriculum designed to prepare players for travel

GAMES

  • Format: 5v5
    • Formal Restarts are incorporated into games: Goalkicks, Corner Kicks Kick-off and Throw-ins
  • Competitive games
  • Equal playing time for all players
  • Players rotate positions

PATHWAY & GROWTH

  • U7/U8 are eligible for Early Travel Select Program
    • Travel Directors scout & identify players at practices and games
  • All U8 players are eligible to try out for travel the following year

U9-U10 (2016-2015)

Goal: To further develop players and guide their transition onto the larger playing field.

COACHING/TEAM

  • Each team has a Head Coach & Assistant Coach
  • Max Roster of 12 players
  • Individualized attention to each player
  • Girls have the option of being on an all girls team or co-ed team

CURRICULUM

  • Coaches follow age-appropriate club curriculum
    • Tactical Focus: Building out from the back,
    • Technical Focus: 1st Touch, dribbling, shooting, passing
    • Physical Focus: Sprinting, acceleration/deceleration, change of direction, Balance
    • Physiological: teamwork, decision-making, growth mindset
  • Curriculum is designed to reinforce technical and tactical foundations and apply the foundations on the larger field

GAMES

  • Format: 7v7
    • All formal rules/restarts are applied
    • Goalie position is introduced
    • Each game has a center ref
  • Competitive games
  • Equal playing time for all players
  • Players rotate positions

PATHWAY & GROWTH

  • All players are eligible to tryout for Travel in Winter and Spring
  • Players identified in middle of season will be invited to a travel practice for further evaluation

U11-U12 (2014-2013)

Goal: To refine players’ technical proficiency and tactical understanding & application

COACHING/TEAM

  • Each team has a Head Coach & Assistant Coach
  • Max Roster of 15 players
  • Individualized attention to each player
  • Girls have the option of being on an all girls team or co-ed team.

CURRICULUM

  • Coaches follow age-appropriate club curriculum
    • Tactical Focus: Transition moments, attacking combination play, identifying pressing cues, attacking/defensive shape
    • Technical Focus: 1st Touch, dribbling, crossing,
    • Physical Focus: Sprinting, stamina, jumping, agility
    • Physiological: Teamwork, enjoyment, mental resilience, competitiveness
  • Curriculum designed to refine a player’s foundation to have lasting enjoyment and success in the sport
