Virginia Revolution Joins MLS NEXT, Elevating National Boys Program for Fall 2025

Leesburg, VA – Virginia Revolution Soccer Club will officially join MLS NEXT’s new competition tier in September 2025. MLS NEXT is the premier player development platform in North America. This milestone strengthens the club’s commitment to providing the highest level of competition and player development.

Following last year’s addition of the Girls Academy, Virginia Revolution’s inclusion in MLS NEXT expands exposure and pathways for both boys and girls at the club. This move positions Revolution as one of the most competitive development programs in the region, offering strong opportunities for players aspiring to reach the collegiate, professional, and international levels.

The boys’ national teams will compete in MLS NEXT Tier Two, facing MLS clubs across the East Coast while also participating in at least two national tournaments and one regional event per year. Meanwhile, the regional teams will develop in the National Academy League, ensuring high-level competition across all levels of the program.

Coaching, Facilities, and Pathways to the Pros
Virginia Revolution’s MLS NEXT program provides a comprehensive development experience, featuring:

• Top Facilities: All training and home matches will take place at Virginia Revolution’s venue, featuring state-of-the-art turf fields, a fully equipped gym, recovery rooms, classrooms, locker rooms, and a dedicated training environment.
• Qualified Coaching: Every coach within the MLS NEXT program holds a minimum of a USSF B or UEFA B License, ensuring players receive high-level technical and tactical instruction.
• Direct Pathway to Professional Soccer: With close ties to D.C. United and Loudoun United, players will have increased visibility and direct scouting opportunities from professional club staff.
• Development Tools: The program incorporates physical testing, player monitoring, video analysis, and strength & conditioning support to maximize each athlete’s potential.

MLS NEXT Tryouts: Your Shot at the Next Level
Virginia Revolution will host MLS NEXT tryouts beginning the week of March 10th. Tryouts will be invite-only and conducted through an interest form, where players will submit their information for evaluation. Coaching staff will review submissions and extend invitations to selected players. D.C. United staff will be present to assess talent, making this a prime opportunity for athletes looking to advance to the next level.
