Leesburg, VA – VA Revolution is thrilled to announce the appointment of Manya
Puppione as the new Director of College Recruitment and Player Counseling. In
this role, Manya will be instrumental in guiding our players through the college
recruitment process, leveraging her extensive experience and proven track
record to maximize their opportunities for post-high school play. Manya brings a
wealth of knowledge and expertise to VA Revolution, having built a remarkable
career both on and off the field.

Manya will also be guiding players with their development within the sport,
ensuring they are both mentally and physically well taken care of. She will help
athletes mentally rehabilitate after injury, managing stress and/or anxiety; thus,
improving athletic performance. Manya will guide players to develop mental
strategies that enable them to cope with and overcome setbacks or injuries,
fostering resilience and overall well-being.

Manyas appointment to this role underscores VA Revolutions commitment to
fostering strong partnerships and networks for aspiring college soccer players
and prioritizing a players; mental health. She will work closely with key members
of our soccer team, including our Technical Director and Director of Player
Development, to create a cohesive and supportive environment for our athletes.

About Manya Puppione:
Manya Puppione has college coaching experience across all NCAA divisions.
She was most recently the women’s soccer head coach at George Mason
University. Prior to that she was the women’s soccer head coach Marymount
University from 2019 – 2021, where she led them to the 2019 Atlantic East
Conference Tournament’s first round with a team that scored 28 goals that
season. From 2016 to 2019, Manya was a women’s soccer assistant coach at
University of Maryland, helping the staff to achieve a top-25 recruiting class in
2017. She started her college coaching career while earning her master’s in
business administration at the University of New Haven as a women’s soccer
assistant coach and goalkeeper coach.

A native of Trumbull, Connecticut, Manyas professional career includes playing
in a variety of leagues in the U.S and Europe. Her playing career spans the Los
Angeles Sol (WPS), Atlanta Beat (WPS), Thor/KA in Iceland, Aland United in
Finland, and Sky Blue FC (NWSL) in the US. She was Naisten Liiga Player of the
Year in Finland and broke the league record for goals scored.

In her career, she has played alongside teammates like Marta, a Brazilian
women’s national team player who at the time was a four time FIFA Player of the
Year, U.S. Women’s National team captains Christie Pearce Rampone and Carli
Lloyd, and U.S. Women’s National team legends Shannon Boxx and Aly Wagner.
A U.S. Youth National team mainstay, she helped the U-19 women’s national
team win the first ever 2022 FIFA U-19 World Cup title. She also contributed to
back-to-back Nordic Cups Championships with the U-21 national team.

Manyas collegiate career at Arizona State University includes Freshman All-
American and NSCAA Academic All-American honors. She earned a bachelors
in journalism and mass communication and a masters in business administration
from the University of New Haven.
