Born and raised in La Serena, Chile, Ian developed his passion for soccer as a youth player before transitioning into coaching. He earned his UEFA A License early in his coaching career and has since held coaching and leadership roles within Barça Academy projects and other elite youth development environments across Virginia and Florida. He joins the club to serve as the U15–U19 Phase Manager for the 26/27 season.

Ian is now finishing Master’s Degree in Sports Business at the Johan Cruyff Institute, reflecting his commitment to continuous learning and professional development. His coaching philosophy is centered on holistic player development, believing that strong values, character, and high-performance habits are the foundation for long-term success both on and off the field. Away from the training ground, he enjoys traveling and visiting professional clubs and national federations to learn from different methodologies and high-performance environments, with technical visits to organizations in Northern Ireland, Spain, Chile, and Argentina.
