VA Revolution is excited to be an MLS NEXT member club. In Fall 2025, VA Revolution’s MLS NEXT team will play in Tier 2. Second teams at VA Revolution will compete in the NAL and third/fourth teams will continue to compete in NCSL.

Both levels participate in national tournaments, but Tier 1 will play the MLS Professional Club Academies and other established top teams. MLS NEXT 2 players will have similar national opportunities but will be allowed to participate in high school sports. Both levels will have significant college scouting exposure.

The tentative list includes Alexandria, Baltimore Armour, Bethesda SC, Cedar Stars Academy Monmouth, Coppermine SC, FC DELCO, Keystone FC, Loudoun Soccer, McLean Youth Soccer, PA Classics, PA Classics Harrisburg, PDA Hibernian, Philadelphia Ukrainian Nationals SC, PDA, Real Futbol Academy, Sporting Athletic Club, SYC and West Virginia.

VA Revolution will have the full slate of boys teams from U13-U19 (2013-2007).

Teams will play a 10-month regular season plus Revolution Cup (Labor Day) and at least one regional and one national MLS tournament in which both MLS NEXT 1 and 2 compete. Teams will tentatively compete in MLS NEXT Fest (Winter Showcase in Florida) and possibly Generation Adidas Cup (Spring Showcase). Players are expected to attend these events.

VA Revolution MLS NEXT Teams will practice 4 times a week, incorporating one day a week for strength, recovery and/or game analysis.

Costs for the MLS NEXT teams will be identical to our national Girls Academy teams to account for additional practices, athletic trainer resources, coach travel and other supplemental fees.

Since 2025/26 is the second year of a two year uniform cycle, current players will have the MLS NEXT logo added to their current uniforms.
